It was 11 o clock last night before
Ian finished painting the coat of primer and came in for dinner. So another very late night.
I was awake at 6.15 this morning, thinking
it was a lot later because it was broad daylight outside. Another day of brilliant blue skies and sunshine. But those clear skies mean it was very cold
with frost. I’ll take clear skies, no wind and frost any day rather than rain, wind,
and grey skies!
The primer Ian applied last night
needs 12 hours between coats so he got at the fairly leisurely hour of 8.30,
porridge (with added raisins, goji berries and walnuts) for breakfast and then
he started all over again. Today he was
painting white onto white, very difficult to see what you have painted and what
you have missed so I it was my job to check
tell him when he missed a spot.
There was a big paintball group that
came by bus this morning and at midday Anne (mother of the household) provided
them with a huge pot of soup (they also had coffee, wine and snackie things to
eats) and we, the workers, also got a mug of soup – gee, was it welcome.
It was after 2 before that second
coat of primer was done, it seemed an awfully long time since breakfast.
So, here is Ian painting – again
And here is Thijs painting – again.
But he is painting with the fumy
black primer so he is wearing full on survival gear.
And here we have the double primed
Njord.
Nest step: sanding – again!
Wow, what a transformation. Well done!
