On the move at last

After a very brisk walk to the bakery, because it was a trifle chilly and sure warmed me up, we left the marina in Roanne at 9.00.  It was then 6C, but dryish and calm so not too bad.  We were the first boat through the locks this year and the 3 lockies we encountered were very cheerful and full of bonhomie.
We asked them if they had any info on the breach and canal closure and one of them phoned a "colleague" who said a huge section of the canal has been closed all the way from the summit to the Saone valley.  No idea if we can trust this info so we will turn onto the Canal du Centre tomorrow and hope to find more reliable info.
All the locks ran smoothly, we are the only boat on the move so everything was prepared in advance.
48 kms and 7.5 hours later, the temperature had struggled up to 8C, we stopped at a halte nautique in the middle of nowhere which has electricity charging point for boats and campervans.  But it has not yet been connected for this season.
