 Finally, the reason we have been hanging out in this area arrived:  we met up with Lynn and Shaun, Ian’s sister and brother in law, on Elle.  They arrived in Belgium 10 days ago, Elle went into the water the next day, and they have been working their way towards us as we have headed north to meet up with them.  We met in mid canal and set off for Douai in tandem.

We passed a big barge called “Westhoek” (the area in Belgium where Njord is based at Diksmuide) 

and not long afterwards we were passed by Hygeia, the boat of Walter, president of our marina in Diksmuide.
