Port Saint Marie to Lagarde, again

3rd May

Plans never quite work out as planned, do they?  We never made it past Lagarde yesterday.  It all started well, Ian was up early helping Shaun de-winterise Elle and they soon discovered a problem.  The pressurised water system would not work. After many hours in the engine room messing around with fuses, wires, volt metres, taking things apart and putting them back together, Ian discovered the problem lay in the pressure switch. The system would still work but had to be switched on and off manually at the control panel.  Not ideal but it would suffice until Shaun could buy a new switch.  It was after 12.30 before we left for Lagarde.

Careful, don't fall in!

The sunny day darkened as huge black clouds gathered and thunder rumbled around us.  As we entered the last lock before Lagarde the rain started to fall.  And the restaurant where we were intending to have dinner instead of lunch as we had planned last night, turned out to be closed on Wednesdays.

Back in the land of internet, Ian spent some time with Mr Google finding out how to fix a pressure switch.  A couple more hours in the engine room and hey presto, it worked!  Meanwhile Lynn rustled up a delicious Thai green curry from veg and store cupboard standards.  It really was good.
