Port Saint Marie

1st May

Today is officially the most boring day I have spent on the boat.  Port Saint Marie is not even a village, I’m not sure it even classes as a hamlet – it has only 3 houses.  But the little marina has about 20 boats, all over -wintering.  Yesterday evening the owners of the boat next to us arrived from Northern Ireland, Colin and Joy on Fennavera, so at least we had someone to chat to on and off today.
There is no internet here at all.  Can’t even download emails.  Last night Ian went to bed at 9.30 in disgust (and I guess he is really tired too).
Today we woke to pouring rain.  Warmer than most mornings though.  Ian went to work on Elle doing something with their electric bikes (oh yes, replacing the original chain guards with new ones he had moulded up over the winter, did the same for our bikes when we arrived), which took more hours than expected with many 4-letter words, and he also checked the engines and new gearbox which was installed over the winter.
I spent the day cleaning:  started inside then got cracking on the hull, deck and fenders.  It is amazing how much green crud, dirt and composting leaves/flower petals/seeds can take up residence when you travel long days every day for 17 days.

Also turned my thoughts to our homeward route and just for interest, here are the maps of our outward route and homeward route.
727 kms
739 kms
