19th April Bourg-et-Comin

We are still in Bourg-et-Comin, with such a weak internet connection that my post for yesterday and today will not happen for a day or two.  

It was hot today, hot, hot, hot.  But early this morning before it got hot I went for a walk.

It is a large property which now has 5 yurts on their grounds...

 A little later we went for a ride but forgot to take the camera.  Sorry!  We rode into the hills, passing farms with huge fields of rape starting to bloom and and lush green cereals, no idea what. 

I think the locks were working today but only 3 barges passed us.

In the afternoon, the temperature peaked at 29C.  With all the opening windows flung wide and my own personal fan, it was much cooler inside than outside.  

My life-saver

I sat down to some route planning for the next few days.  This little fan is amazing.  It is a rechargable USB fan with a small water container that blows a fine mist.  Really cool.

How did it go from mid-winter to high summer in 2 weeks?  

This time last year, we were in this same spot and it was -2.6 C in the morning with thick fog!  What a difference a year makes.
