Thieu

Last night the old Ascenseur was lit up with a blue and green light display.

We didn't go anywhere today by boat, but took a bike ride along the old Historic Canal du Centre.  We are moored right at the entrance to the old canal.  And a few days ago we moored at the opposite end of the same canal!

 We took a long leisurely ride along the tow path, and stopped for "frites" at lunch time - what decadence!  We were totally bemused by the choice of 26 different sauces.

The old canal is lovely, it is such a pity is was not open all the way.  However, we discovered that you can enter at the lock at Thieu, go up in Ascenseur no 4, and continue as far as Ascenseur no 3 before you have to turn round and go back. 

 There was a passenger cruise boat doing the trip today.

Also did a load of laundry by hand, it was a nice sunny day today (till mid afternoon) and read our books!
