Chatillon

A day of trying to evade the heat.  I went for a walk at 7.30, camera in hand.  The sun was still low and very bright, not ideal conditions for taking photographs.
The cross on the bridge over the canal
I was impressed with how the residents have made gardens in the most unlikely and tiniest spaces.

I stopped at the boulangerie to buy a baguette and a couple of pastries (haven’t had any of those for over a week).
At 9.30 we put the bikes ashore and went to the supermarket to stock up on essentials such as fresh vegetables, meat, milk, butter, sugar and coffee which were running low.
By 11.00 the heat was fearsome and we did not much else for the rest of the day except read books with our small individual fans keeping the worst of the heat at bay.  Inside the boat it was 32C and outside 30C.  Tomorrow is supposed to be worse and we will be on the move.  I can’t say I am looking forward to it.
